The Norwegian Blues weren’t the only Town fans in footballing action last weekend with the Italian supporters taking part in the first Italian Connection tournament in Milan last Saturday.

The ITFC Italian Branch went out in the group stages of the 16-team tournament after drawing 0-0 with Leeds and losing 1-0 to Everton and 3-1 to Manchester City. Newcastle’s Italian Magpies were the eventual winners with Everton second.

Simone Longo from the Italian Branch said: “The tournament was a fantastic occasion to connect, in a friendly atmosphere, with all Italian supporters and we are proud to represent ITFC and make known our fantastic club!

“The appointment is made for next year and we are looking forward to enjoying the tournament another time.”

Simone and the rest of the Italian Branch receive a plaque for participating from Olympic gold medal-winning canoeist Antonio Rossi
