Robson Cruise This Weekend
Friday, 14th Jun 2013 10:07

More than 600 fans are taking part in the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation Cruise over the weekend, visiting Amsterdam, the scene of Town’s 1981 UEFA Cup final victory, before returning to the legendary Blues boss’s hometown of Newcastle.

Ex-players George Burley, John Wark, Allan Hunter and Bryan Hamilton are amongst those joining the supporters to recall Town’s European adventures of the past, while Lady Elsie Robson is the guest of honour.

Fred. Olsen, who are organising the trip, are supporting Sir Bobby’s cancer charity, The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and will be hosting dedicated fundraising activities on board Black Watch throughout the cruise.

For travellers wanting to look back on memories of previous forays abroad, copies of On a European Journey: With Ipswich Town in Europe 1962-2002 signed by Blues legends Kevin Beattie and Mick Lambert will be on sale on the ship. They are also available via TWTD.

I cannot imagine how well stocked the bar is going to have to be for this trip - am so looking forward to it.... Hic !!!!

If half the people are Barcodes, then they'll need 600 crates of Newcastle Brown for a start.

Just been down the port this evening to send them off and was dissapointed as i was the only one. I would have been honoured to be on board but i thought there would be more town fans waving them off. Super Bob, Super Bobby Robson i say. Blue Arrrrmy.
