Finidi George says that his Nigerian side can pull off a big surprise and win the World Cup. Finidi has already left England to join his team-mates ahead of the African Nations' Cup, in Mali from January 19th.

Finidi, who has already said he hopes his side win the African Nations' Cup, thinks Nigeria could do well despite not being tipped: "There will be a lot of surprises in the World Cup. Most people have tipped Argentina but I have a strong feeling three will be a big surprise. No one expects Nigeria to win the World Cup but if we get through that group [with England, Argentina and Sweden] we could surprise a lot of people."

The Town winger has said he will retire from international football after the World Cup.
