Crowe Set for Cap
Monday, 18th Nov 2013 09:10

Academy second-year keeper Michael Crowe looks set to keep his place in the Wales U19s when they face Moldova in the final game of their European Championships qualifying group in Georgia later this morning.

Crowe came on as a sub at 4-0 in their 5-1 defeat to the hosts in their opening game, then played the full match and kept a clean sheet as the Welsh youngsters, who are coached by former Town midfielder Geraint Williams, drew 0-0 with Holland on Friday.

Wales look set to miss out on progress to the next stage of qualifying even if they beat the table-propping Moldovans with their record against the top two in the group unlikely to see them through as one of the best third-placed sides.

London-born Crowe, whose father is English and mother Norwegian, joined the Blues in the summer of 2012 from Kristiansand-based side IK Start, having been brought up in Norway. He qualifies for Wales through his grandmother.

The second-year academy scholar signed a two-year professional contract earlier in the season. His only competitive involvement with the Town senior squad so far was a place on the bench at QPR.
