Blues Backline Eradicating Errors Saturday, 14th Dec 2013 06:00 Town may be finding clean sheets in short supply compared to last season but a quick glance at the league table confirms it is hardly a major concern. Defender Luke Chambers, who helped to keep 10 cleans sheets in a 14-game period during the second half of last season, believes the statistics are a tad confusing. He said: “We have limited teams to very few chances, especially at the start of this season when we were only giving them one or two. But we were still getting punished and we were always thinking, not that our luck was going to change but something along those lines. “We were definitely getting punished for little tiny mistakes and we’ve been slowly trying to get rid of them. But the level of performances from other teams in the Championship means that if you give them a chance it is almost certainly going to result in a goal. “As you saw on Saturday against Huddersfield, I got skinned down the line and they scored from it. It’s one of those things and we can only keep trying to defend well, which I think we have done, and hopefully teams won’t punish us if we do make one or two mistakes." Chambers has also played his part in Town’s recent run of four wins in five games, including three on the trot, that has seen them climb the Championship table to within two points of the play-off zone. He added: “Where we are now speaks volumes for the manager. I don’t think he has spent a penny. He has brought together a squad that we feel are doing well at the moment but we are not getting carried away with the three wins in a row. “We are just concentrating on the next game and we’ll try to take care of Forest on Saturday before looking forward to the next one. "If we can get four wins in a row there’s no reason why we can’t be challenging but we just have to take it game by game and see where it takes us.”
