Fans Asked to Check Cup Payment
Tuesday, 31st Dec 2013 19:45

Fans who took up the pre-payment scheme for cup matches have been asked to check whether their payment for Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Preston have been taken.

Donna Paget from the Town ticket office told the club website: “From the 1,300 supporters on the scheme, we have had 140 failed payments which means the card number that we have on file is no longer valid and must be updated in order for us to sell their seat to them.

“There are also a number of supporters that thought they were on the scheme but aren’t and therefore their seat has not been sold to them.

“We urge all supporters to check that their accounts have been debited well before Saturday’s game.”

bluefeast. online has nothing to do with this issue whatsoever. is purely a case as stated that some peoples cards have expired and others have not, as they thought, entered the scheme/ and while I agree that all modes of ticket sales should be available I don't believe that is totally the reason for the decrease in gates. in fact other than over the last few weeks when there have been a lot of games, attendances have held up reasonably well, but with 2 home games in same week and some wanting to travel to away games, plus xmas, gates have suffered. so a collection of things responsible for smaller gates.

Online sales have nothing to do with the decrease in gates. It's because our season tickets have fallen and our single seat prices are way too high to compete with other calls on the same money. We have been in the Championship for 12 years, the last 4 of which prior to McCarthy were under incompetent managers. People have become disillusioned and walked away. It will take a sustained period of success on the field - and probably promotion - to reverse the trend.

Online booking is way simpler than any other method of booking, both for home and away tickets. Without it, gates would probably have fallen further. It's a terrible shame for those who lost their jobs, but we are not the only business shedding staff in favour of automation.

I thought, no I am sure I had ticked all the boxes needed to secure my seat for cup games to be automatically paid for when I renewed my season ticket.
Checked my statement a day or two ago and found no payment had been made for the FA Cup Preston game. I did get a new credit card through the other day, but the old one was still valid untill end of January. Having assumed my card details were out of date I logged into my account to find that there is no option to update my card details.
ITFC if you are going to make an online payment scheme please place a little more thought into the options that people need to use this online service correctly or you will be finding a few less supporters at the games. I live locally and it does not cost me alot to get to the ground, but what about the fans who travel in and spend alot of cash just to get here, only to be told you don't have a ticket. I think you owe it them and all your supporters to put in place a system that does not fail them.
I went to Planet Blue today and was told that with the new system in we were meant to authorise a new payment method for cup game tickets. So if I had not checked I would have got to the gate on Saturday and would have been refused admission on the fact I had not been allocated a ticket for the game.
