McGreal Keeps Goal
McGreal Keeps Goal
Monday, 4th Feb 2002 13:20

The Premier League have confirmed that John McGreal will be credited with the goal he scored against Tottenham last month. The ball came off Ledley King last but a video panel have decided that it should be McGreal's goal after all.

McGreal, again Town's man of the match on Saturday at Everton, will be pleased to hear the news, having previously only scored one goal in a Town shirt. That was in last year's win at Goodison Park.

A Premier League spokesman said: "After viewing a video of the game, the panel decided that John McGreal's goal will stand."

The Premier League have said they will look into Marcus Bent's goal against Fulham. Some video replays suggested that the ball may have already been over the line when Bent got his touch. If the video panel agree then Alun Armstrong will have his eighth goal of the season.
