Chambo Taking Each Game As It Comes Friday, 5th Dec 2014 12:35 Town may have been beaten just once in a 15-game run, a record that has taken them to second spot in the league table, but it’s not a subject that skipper Luke Chambers is comfortable discussing. Chambers has played his part, missing just one game in a sequence that has seen Mick McCarthy’s men bank 30 points from a possible 45 and climb from 17th place to within one point of leaders Derby County. He said: “It’s a good run but it’s something I don’t really like talking about. We’re just ticking them off and we never look past the game that’s in front of us. “That seems to have held us in good stead so far. We’re just focusing on the next game, whoever it’s against, and setting ourselves up in a way that will make it difficult to play against us.” Chambers believes the way Town are going about their business in the current campaign is reminiscent of Burnley last season. The Clarets eventually finished runners-up to champions Leicester and clinched promotion to the top flight ahead of several teams who were among the bookies’ pre-season favourites. By means of comparison, this time last year Burnley were actually leading the Championship with 39 points, five more than Town have accumulated this term, but despite being unable to maintain such a hectic pace Sean Dyche’s men claimed automatic promotion, thanks in the main to strikers Danny Ings and Sam Vokes scoring 41 league goals between them. Chambers added: “We’ve got players at the moment who are in terrific form, like our front two. They are causing teams problems week in, week out, and it echoes the way Burnley did it last year. “Their two strikers were absolutely on fire and they were also very solid at the back. It’s something we’ve looked at and that’s the way things have gone so far.”
