![]() Thursday, 3rd Feb 2000 12:00 Town are dismissing widespread reports this morning that Spurs are to make a bid of £5-£6 million for David Johnson. It is believed that Spurs have also ruled out the link. The North Londoners have been linked with practically every striker in the Premiership and First Division as George Graham seeks to address his side's goal shy nature. Both Town and Spurs denied any deal in the offing for Matt Holland just last week. Despite the large wad of cash laid out this week for Marcus Stewart, Town chairman David Sheepshanks has said that there could well be more spending in the offing. The fees will be nowhere near the level of the Stewart transfer, but expect someone to be picked up for little or nothing before the season's end. Sheepshanks has also said that the Stewart deal has eaten up virtually all the money there to spend. Richard Logan is in the Football Association Youth squad for a game against the Independent Schools XI. The match is on 28th February at Bisham Abbey.
