McGoldrick to Miss Brighton Trip
Tuesday, 20th Jan 2015 13:44

Striker David McGoldrick is set to miss Wednesday’s visit to Brighton with his knee injury, but is expected to be available for the home game against Wigan a week on Saturday.

The Irish international, who is again set to be replaced by Noel Hunt against the Seagulls, suffered the knock in the FA Cup tie against Southampton.

“He’ll be fine for Wigan, he won’t be involved tomorrow night," manager Mick McCarthy said.

McCarthy confirmed that Luke Hyam is out for four to six weeks with his knee injury, but better news is that Cole Skuse and Teddy Bishop are both back in training after illnesses and will make the trip to the Amex Stadium.

“They both trained today, they were very good today, I’m really pleased with them," the Town boss added.

"Skusey’s experienced, he’s older, he’s as fit as a flea anyway. Maybe the rest might have done him good, he’s played most of the games.

“Bish is different, every week he runs himself to exhaustion and after 75 minutes we take him off and I think that runs him down, the old immune system takes a battering. But he’s fine, he trained today and looked great, I’m really pleased to have him back."

McG is pure class, yes he hasn't scored as many this year & agree he would cut across the box, shoot & it would be nestling in the top corner most of last season & this season his shooting looks off. That would appear down to maybe trying too hard, rather than relaxing a bit?

One thing is for sure he has provided many, many assists for Murph & others. Let's hope he comes back next Sat, rested & ready to go.
