North Move Begins
North Move Begins
Wednesday, 20th Feb 2002 11:03

Town have begun the process which will see 3,000 North Standers relocated within the new stand. Letters have gone out asking season ticket holders who they sat next to in the old stand in an effort to relocate everyone without the chaos of last summer's move to the South Stand.

The club have established a supporters' liaison group as they attempt to complete what Ticket Office manager John Ford says is a "complex job."

The club say that there will still be some work left to complete when next season starts, with the bars housed in the two blocks at either end of the stand likely to be unfinished until September. The seating areas however will be complete for 2002/03.

The club are aiming to move supporters back to the North as near as possible to where they were in the old stand. This is made more difficult by the new stand having fewer rows than the old one, although the new rows are longer than in the previous stand.

1,500 supporters moved back from the South earlier in the season, but, according to the club these seats will "not neccessarily have any bearing on seat allocation for next season."

The lower tier of the new North will be much as the old with no concessions and one price throughout. The upper tier, however, will be more like the South Stand upper with smoking prohibited, concessions and higher prices. This year's season ticket price for the lower tier is £329 whereas the upper would be priced at £425. The club are yet to announce next year's season ticket prices.
