![]() Monday, 11th May 2015 11:20 Inspire Suffolk, previously the ITFC Charitable Trust, is looking for male players aged 16-19 for its football and education scholarship programme, which starts this September in partnership with Thurlow Nunn Premier Division side Felixstowe and Walton United. The programme has been created to give local football talent a boost and provides a pathway for footballers to develop and play within a semi-professional environment. The scholarship programme is a full-time course and successful students will learn the 11-a-side game whilst working for a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport. ![]() Teaching is provided by Inspire’s experienced coaches and there will be the opportunity to play regular midweek fixtures in a regional league against other college teams. All students will also be given the opportunity to sign for Felixstowe and Walton, where they can progress via their football pathway from the U18s through to the senior side, although this isn't a requirement for players who may already be with other local clubs. Andy Crump, Inspire Suffolk’s education delivery manager (pictured above), said: "This course also allows students to access further education and university too if they wish and can help open doors to a career in coaching." “The style of delivery and the football coaching suited his learning style, enabling him to achieve some excellent grades, way beyond our expectations. As a result he was able to gain four really good university offers." For more information, visit Inspire Suffolk’s website, call Andy Crump on 07595024725 or email andyc@inspiresuffolk.org.uk.
