Fulham Confirm Pringle Signing
Friday, 19th Jun 2015 13:45

Fulham have confirmed that Town target Ben Pringle will join them when his Rotherham contract is up at the end of the month. TWTD revealed that the Cottagers were set to beat the Blues to the former Miller’s signature early last week.

We understand that Town made an offer to the 26-year-old but that Fulham - whose Premier League parachute payments give them far greater financial muscle - subsequently made an approach to the Newcastle-born midfielder, who had turned down a new contract at Rotherham.

Pringle has agreed a two-year deal with an option for a third season, while Fulham have also signed former Bolton keeper Andy Lonergan - a Town target during Jim Magilton’s time as manager - who will also pen a two-year contract, again with an option for an additional campaign, on July 1st.

Elsewhere, one-time Blues trialist Semi Ajayi has joined his former loan club Cardiff City after his release by Arsenal. The 21-year-old centre-half played for Town's U21s against the Bluebirds at Playford Road in January.

Who cares pringle is not a top player we can do better than him.
If we had have signed him he would have freaked me out he looks like the boy from space kids tv program from the 80s.

Pre-season is pointless if you wait till September to assemble your team.

In sure if MM is going to make a signing, we won't know about it till its done and dusted...such as last season for example. Although Pringle would have been a good signing, I hear once he pops a few goals in, he just doesn't stop...

Think we need to make a decision on whether to sell Mings quick as if we are (and Mick is getting the money for signings) that makes a big difference in what/who we can sign. Forget Pringles - it's the likes of Derby who concern me - Weiman, Carson, Baird. Only £2m the lot!

It's not Pringle who lacks ambition unfortunately it is us as a club . Should have invested in January and should be going after our targets now rather than wait for the bargain bucket
I for one will not be satisfied with just holding onto our own players

Disappointed at lack of activity to date. After deciding not to retain players not good enough to gain promotion such as hunt and anderson I thought that Mick had some gems lined up. That's the way Bournemouth did it last season. I know it's only media talk but only rumours relate to sales of our assets

...not quite getting the concerns about lack of activity this side of July 1st....clubs contracts run up until then ...no point in getting in any earlier if expectation is that we pay any of last years wages ...plus once the transfer activity gets going players who might have felt happy in clubs where they currently are potentially will be unsettled if new signings come in ...therefore making the market wider with some opportunities that we may never have been expecting ....totally agree however though they need to be in by mid July to be part of the pre season....this transfer window is three weeks wide if you want to start the season off with a bang!!

Getting bored of these non stories, not bothered about players going elsewhere, Town only want a bit more quality they don't need to sign loads during the summer. Town have some great young players coming through.
