Town Confirm Yorwerth Signing
Tuesday, 23rd Jun 2015 14:49

Town have confirmed that former Cardiff City central defender Josh Yorwerth will be joining the Blues on July 1st, as first revealed by TWTD in May. The 20-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at Portman Road, plus an option for a further season, having impressed while on trial towards the end of 2014/15.

Bridgend-born Yorwerth, a Wales U16, U19 and U21 international, was released by Cardiff in May having come through their youth system.

While on trial with the Blues he featured in the U21s games against Charlton, Bristol City - in which he scored - and Colchester.

Yorwerth, who is yet to make a senior appearance, will join up with the rest of the squad when they return to Playford Road for pre-season next week. He is likely to initially be viewed as a member of Mark Kennedy’s development squad.

Meanwhile, tickets to the pre-season friendly at Colchester United on Tuesday 28th July go on sale via Planet Blue and ITFC Direct from Thursday.

I don't mind how many development players as long as we get the strengthening we desperately need in the first team squad which looks less and less likely at this stage i don't believe MM gives a diddly squat about winning promotion if he does its time he start showing it.

samassiabou - Thank you for so clearly illustrating a point I have maintained on this board for some years. People on this board make no attempt to understand or interpret what their fellow posters are actually saying, instead they make a hasty ill-constructed assumption and immediately start insulting perfectly nice and intelligent people then their cronies join in to support their misunderstanding and we end up in a perpetual mess of cross arguments, why should it be? Good advice would be - if you do not fully understand what is being posted ask a question rather than jumping in with both feet and calling somebody an idiot which you should not do in any case!
