Thursday, 10th Mar 2016 08:05

Portman Road will host three of this season's Suffolk FA county cup finals.

The final of the Senior Cup, which is sponsored by CNet Training, will be played on Thursday, 19th May, the Women’s Cup final, sponsored by HomeStore Self Storage, on Monday 23rd May and the Junior Cup final, sponsored by CNet Training, on Tuesday 24th May, all with 7pm kick-offs.

Suffolk FA chief executive, Laura Smith, said: “We are delighted that Ipswich Town have agreed to stage three of our county cup finals at Portman Road.

“The club have shown a very positive approach during our discussions to the finals returning to Portman Road and I am sure that the move will be widely welcomed by not only the participating clubs and their supporters but by the whole Suffolk football community.”

Town secretary, Sally Webb, added: “Where possible we will always try to host the county cup finals at Portman Road and we are delighted that we have been able to agree dates with the Suffolk FA to host these prestigious matches this year."

Cloddy - the play offs will be before these dates see www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/29227/play-off-semi-final-dates-set

Sally Webb - your comment "Where possible we will always try to host the county cup finals at Portman Road" is a blatant lie has there have been numerous recent seasons why lame excuses have been given. As the senior club in the county Ipswich should always stage these no matter what.....

Phil - as an excellent journalistic web-site can we not challenge these bland comments when they are offered? I am still waiting for somebody who has access to MMc and the club to confirm whether he receives a bonus when we make money on a player (i.e. Tyrone Mings). As fans I think we have the right to know.....
