Six Could Win Caps Thursday, 24th Mar 2016 10:31 Christophe Berra, Jonas Knudsen and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are amongst six Town players who could win international caps later today. The 31-year-old centre-half will be looking to add to his 31 full caps and three goals when Scotland face the Czech Republic in a friendly in Prague this evening (Premier Sports, 7.30pm). Berra was not named in a separate squad for next Tuesday’s friendly at home to Denmark, which means he misses the chance to play against team-mate Knudsen. The 23-year-old left-back will be hoping to win his third full cap and his first while a Town player when the Danes take on Iceland in a friendly in Herning this evening. On-loan Arsenal winger Maitland-Niles is with the England U19s squad for their Euro 2016 elite round qualifiers in Spain. The England youngsters, who are coached by Aidy Boothroyd, get their mini-tournament under way with a game against Georgia in Salvador this afternoon. They face Greece on Saturday, then finally the hosts on Tuesday. Only the winners of the group will progress to the finals in Germany in July. Maitland-Niles, 18, has previously won five caps at U19 level and has scored two goals. Development squad keeper Jon Henly, 22, will be out to win his second Scotland U21 cap when they come up against France in a Euro 2017 qualifier in Angers this evening. The Scots subsequently host Northern Ireland in another qualifier in Paisley on Tuesday. Academy pair Andre Dozzell and Ben Morris are with the England U17s who begin their Euro 2016 elite qualifying mini-tournament this evening with a game against at Chesterfield’s Proact Stadium (KO 7pm). The England youngsters then face Finland at Leek Town’s Harrison Park on Saturday, before their final game against Ukraine at Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday. The teams which finish top of their groups and the best second-placed sides will go through to the finals in Azerbaijan in May. Also away on international duty at present but not in action today are Daryl Murphy with Ireland, Kevin Bru with Mauritius and Michael Crowe and Josh Yorwerth with the Wales U21s.
