Coach Foley and David Johnson on Life's a Pitch
Academy coach Steve Foley is the studio guest on Life’s a Pitch, which is live on Radio Suffolk over Saturday lunchtime (12-2pm), talking about his new coaching book Coach Your Way to the Premiership and his life in football, while 1970s striker David Johnson will be on the phone. Host Mark Murphy will also be joined by legend-in-residence Kevin Beattie, football’s youngest pundit Tractorboy and TWTD's Phil Ham. Foley, 62, initially joined Town as a specialist skills coach during Jim Magilton’s time as manager in 2006. After departing in 2010 during Roy Keane’s tenure, Clacton-born Foley was brought back to the academy by Bryan Klug in 2012 and currently has a role working with players in all age groups as well as coaching the academy’s coaches.
The former Colchester midfielder also had time coaching at Norwich City and is currently head coach at Needham Market in addition to his role at Playford Road. Coach Your Way to the Premiership is on sale at Planet Blue. Striker Johnson was inducted into the Town Hall of Fame last week. Can Town still make the play-offs?
