Bru Wins Cap But Mauritius Defeated Sunday, 5th Jun 2016 14:57 Blues midfielder Kevin Bru won his seventh full Mauritius cap but his side fell to a 2-0 home defeat to Ghana in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier earlier this afternoon. Swansea’s Andre Ayew netted on 71 and Chelsea’s Christian Atsu added the second three minutes later for the Ghanaians, who confirmed qualification for the finals in Gabon. Earlier in the qualification group Ghana beat the Mauritians 7-1 in Accra. Mauritius, who are skippered by Bru’s older brother Jonathan, remain third in the qualification group with their final game away against Mozambique in September. Bru, who was born in France but qualifies for Mauritius via his parents, won’t be in the squad which now travels to Namibia to take part in the Cosafa Cup.
