Town's players have undergone individual and group sessions with club psychologist Ken Way this week as they have prepared for tomorrow's crucial game against Bolton Wanderers. Defender Fabian Wilnis says that the sessions have definitely helped.

Way, a Town supporter as well as the psychologist, has worked with the squad for a number of years now and has in the past been praised by Marcus Stewart. The striker felt that one particular technique he was shown by Way helped him to widen his focus in games last season.

Wilnis has listened to motivation tapes by US psychologist Anthony Robins and says he has been helped: "The players saw Ken Way and hopefully it has given us quite a lot. He tells you to think of your last really good game. Get it into you mind, into your head. You have to focus on that game.

"I'm lucky my last good game was against Chelsea, so I don't have far to look back."

"The tapes that I've been listening to are excellent. They are positive thinking tapes."

The full-back also says that that the psychology sessions have helped in his life away from football: "The psychology talks and tapes have helped me in my general life and my football. I now realise more than ever before how privileged I am to be a professional sportsman, to have the lifestyle I have and to earn what I earn.

"Hopefully we can all have a good day at Bolton tomorrow and get three vital points. The game is a cup final, a must-win game. It's a case of all or nothing."

Wilnis is still on the transfer list, but is putting that to the back of his mind while Town fight for their Premiership survival.
