Players Will Go - Sheepy

Town chairman David Sheepshanks has reiterated that players will be sold if Town are relegated to the Nationwide League. Sheepshanks was clearly unimpressed at Saturday's performance, describing it as "perfectly dreadful".

Sheepshanks said: "Undoubtedly there will have to be changes. The gap between the Premiership and the First Division is widening every year.

"The real worry for any club that is relegated - unless they've got ultra-super resources - will have to reorganise. We are in good shape but if you go out of the Premiership you lose something like £12 million in income and that has to be replaced, so there's no doubt some players will have to go.

"We will have to reorganise. There's a time for that, we're not relegated yet and we've got to believe we can survive. I expect every player to fight for their lives to keep the club in the Premiership.

"On the basis of yesterday's performance, when we were perfectly dreadful and put in some really abject performances, we all know we can do a lot better and we need to see a lot better."

With Town's position looking increasingly precarious transfer rumours regarding Blues' players are becoming more frequent. Last week Marcus Stewart was linked with a £6 million move to Sunderland while Titus Bramble is widely thought to be a target of Newcastle United in the summer. Matteo Sereni has been linked with a move to Chelsea or back to Italy and the papers this weekend have resurrected an old link between Matt Holland and Manchester City.
