Manchester United Youngster Linked
Sunday, 30th Oct 2016 15:40

Town, Preston and Wigan are reportedly keen on signing Manchester United youngster Cameron Borthwick-Jackson on loan in January.

Left-back Borthwick-Jackson, who also plays at centre-half or in midfield, is currently on a season-long loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers but has made only six appearances for the Molineux club and could be recalled in January if the 19-year-old’s chances continued to be limited under the successor to recently sacked boss Walter Zenga.

According to various Sunday papers, The Blues, Lilywhites and Latics all targeted the U20 international in the summer and could revive their interest.

However, left-back wouldn’t appear to be an area of the squad manager Mick McCarthy will be looking to add to with Jonas Knudsen established as his first choice and his deputy Myles Kenlock having impressed his boss during his first appearance of the season against Rotherham yesterday.

Can only be paper talk as we cannot fit the centre halves in that we already have at the club and have to play one of those at RB, still I suppose he could play at LB ???

Makes sound economic sense, think of the revenue from shirt sales with all those letters on the back.

Any one criticise this player obviously doesnt know there football. He got game time for united last season and looked good for someone who has not played in the premier league before. Will be far better than knudsen but very unlikely to join us.

The only player we need to replace is Murphy, i think we have perfectly capable players BUT they are being told to play a certain way which is ripping the very heart and soul out of every single supporter of the Club.

ArnieM, we don't need a big target man. It's a change in style we need to utilise the strikers we have.

He looked a real talent last season and I thought Mourinho would prefer him to Rojo as backup LB at Man Utd. He's a talented attacking left back perhaps in a similar mould to Mings, however like everyone else here I just can't see we'd be after a left back....
