Friday, 11th Nov 2016 13:36

Town’s U18s have been drawn away against Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.

The match will be played at the City Ground on a date yet to be set before Saturday 17th December.

Last season the Blues went out in the third round, the stage when they enter the competition, having been defeated 2-1 away by Liverpool.

Town have won the competition on three occasions in their history, in 1973, 1975 and 2005.

The Blues youngsters, who are coached by Alan Lee, face QPR away on Saturday morning at the Imperial College Sports Ground (KO 10.30am).

The U18s are also in action on Tuesday night in their Suffolk Premier Cup quarter-final against a Leiston first team at Victory Road (KO 7.45pm), having defeated Kirkley and Pakefield 5-1 in the first round.

Ryman League Premier Division Leiston defeated the Town youngsters 6-2 at the first round stage of the competition last season.
