Town 0-2 Norwich Sunday, 19th Mar 2000 20:27 Town fell to a home defeat to Norwich in a scrappy affair at Portman Road. Iwan Roberts scored two first half goals as Town never impressed their superiority on their neighbours. The first goal came from a bad clearance when Tony Mowbray impeded Manu Thetis as he was clearing with a header. Iwan Roberts shot was going wide until it hit Thetis and went the other side of Richard Wright. The second came on the stroke of half-time whe Fabian Wilnis left his man and Roberts was given time to cut inside and hit home. Town fans were very disappointed with referee Rob Styles who refused substitute Richard Naylor's call for a penalty after he was tripped in the area and made a host of other very poor decisions. Ultimately though Town only have themselves to blame for a very poor performance. Things must get better sooner rather than later. A win at Tranmere on Wednesday is imperitive. R Wright 6 One good save Wilnis 5 At fault on second goal Mowbray 5 Defence unusually disorganised Venus 5 Poor passing Thetis 5 Mix up on goal (Stockwell 73) Clapham 6 More crosses would have been nice Holland 6 Midfield very weak Magilton 6 Not up to much Scowcroft 6 Not at best Stewart 5 Very poor again (Naylor 46, 7 Did well when he came on) Johnson 7 Header well-saved
