Vintage Programmes Fetch Big Prices
Monday, 20th Mar 2017 20:32

Town programmes from the distant past were sold for "remarkable" prices over the weekend as Martlesham auctioneers Lockdales put their biggest batch of Blues memorabilia for many years under the hammer.

The programme from the Yeovil and Petters versus Town 1937 FA Cup first round tie had a catalogue guide price of £30 to £60 but eventually went for £340.

The one issued for the Ipswich versus Norwich Third Division South match from 1945 had a guide price of £25 to £30. It sold for £200, while a page of Blues autographs from 1938 went for £65.

Auction manager James Sadler said: "The response was phenomenal, the prices were remarkable. After this, I can't wait for us to build up another big Blues section."

This goes to show that Blues memorabilia from a time when we were good, sells for big money.
With this in mind, programmes and autographs from this era should (in 50/60 years time) go for about 50p an auction!!!!
