Huws Hoping to Stay With Town
Monday, 17th Apr 2017 19:50

Loan midfielder Emyr Huws says he hopes he’ll still be with the Blues next season. Huws, 23, who is on loan from Cardiff City, scored his third goal of his loan spell as the Blues beat Newcastle United 3-1 at Portman Road this afternoon.

"I love the boys, and they've made me feel really welcome," the Wales international told Ipswich Player HD.

"The staff, the place, everything. I'm really enjoying being at the club. I don't know what will happen at the end of the season yet and I'm just taking each day as it comes, but hopefully I can be playing here next season if things work out.

"I am quite happy with my goal today. I can't really remember it too well because it was just instinct.

"In the first half we stifled them, then in the second we imposed our game more and we deserved to win the game.

"The support was immense today as well, so I'm glad I managed to get a goal down that end.”

Huws has two years left on his Bluebirds contract having signed for them last summer, but had made only two starts and two sub appearances prior to his move to the Blues in January.

Yes would like us to sign all three Welsh Internationals;although the 3rd Jonny Williams is more injury prone.

However, earlier in the season he was fit and didn't play, and again now I believe he is fit but not even been in the squad over Easter. He hasn't upset our prickly Manager by daring to ask for a few minutes on the grass in a first team match has he?

Certainly the type of player that should be signed - as long as his obvious flair is used to it's full potential, and not wasted by you know who - whom we all know will still be here next season.

........ someone mentions Hyam and Bishop - cannot really see how either will play a major part for the Club in the future. Would be good to be proved wrong tho'.

Lower league football beckons unless the attitude, ability, luck, and desire improves dramatically between now and August.
Too much of an ask for either I'm afraid - natural talent is not the only requirement to succeed.

Huws is a totally different proposition entirely.
