Four Out for Fulham
Four Out for Fulham

Town will be missing Fabian Wilnis (hamstring), Mark Venus (ankle), John McGreal (Calf) and Marcus Stewart (groin). George Burley, fresh from signing his new four-and-a-half-year deal, is likely to opt for a 4-4-2 formation with Wilnis replaced by Micky Stockwell and Venus by Wayne Brown.

James Scowcroft is expected to continue up front with David Johnson with Jermaine Wright continuing after his excellent performance on Wednesday.

New signing Martijn Reuser is likely to take some part in the game, probably as a substitute. He has been given the number 30 shirt.

Chris Keeble has joined Colchester United on a year's deal after being released by Town. Keeble made only one appearence for Town, as sub in the fog bound win at Port Vale two seasons ago.

The plans for the new 5,000 seat extension to Churchman's have been submitted to Ipswich Borough Council. If approved the work will start at the end of the summer and carry on at the beginning of next season, however attendences are unlikely to be affected.

The new stand dwarfs both the Cobbold and the Britannia at 30 metres high. It includes a concourse and all the usual under-staffed food establishments (we expect).

It has been designed by Manchester architects Atherden, Fuller and Leng (I didn't make that name up) who have also been involved with work at Liverpool, Manchester United, Everton and Blackburn.

Brad Grine (again nothing to do with me) is managing the Ipswich project after previously being involved in stands at Manchester United.

The stand, to be paid for virtually entirely with grants, would be the first stage in redeveloping Portman Road. Should promotion come the plan is to add another tier to the North Stand bringing the capacity to around 30,000.

A deal between Ipswich Buses and the club means that fans can travel to games for just 37p. The deal is intended to cut down on traffic on match days. Production of your ticket will allow the discount from the normal fare.
