Lawrence and Huws in Wales Squad
Thursday, 25th May 2017 12:57

Town loanees Tom Lawrence and Emyr Huws have been named in the Wales squad for their World Cup qualifier against Serbia in Belgrade on Sunday 11th June.

Blues boss Mick McCarthy has said the Blues have no chance of signing 23-year-old Lawrence, who has spent the season on loan from Leicester on a permanent basis, as he expects him to be playing in the Premier League.

McCarthy hopes to sign Huws, 23, from Cardiff, however, but has played down the chances of re-signing Crystal Palace man Williams, also 23, for a further spell next season.

The squad will take part in a training camp in Portugal prior to the game against the Serbs.

Such is the dearth of ITFC activity, we've had to resort to reporting on two players that aren't even ours! 😂

Why even report this, it's a non-story. They are no longer our loan players and I could see Huws doing a Feeney on us. Come on Phil and Gav, you're better than this.

Looks like I was lost for words.

Just to say Scottrock that perhaps you would prefer the club website, where there is virtually nothing;or the Ipswich Player where there is nothing?

I would like to see Huws, Lawrence and Williams back next season (Williams on some sort of pay per play deal). It won't happen, I suppose we might get Huws.

Proved to be quite a talented bunch the Welsh contingent on our squad last season. Also first time I've heard anything about Williams for a while. Not on either the 'retained' or leaving list. Maybe there is also a 'to do' list.

Sadly they are both out of our price range. More third rate over the hill or injured loans is our lot at this stage.
