Town Shirts to Bear Local Charity's Name Wednesday, 7th Jun 2017 16:45 Town’s first-team shirts will bear the name of a local charity for the first time next season. The charity’s name or logo will be below the player’s number on the home and away shirts, an amendment to the rules regarding shirt sponsorship now permitting the use of that space. The name will appear free of charge, while the charity will also receive other benefits from the link-up. Supporters will able to buy the name or logo for their shirts for a nominal fee which will go to the charity. “It’s something new for us and it’s an exciting concept,” MD Ian Milne told the club website. “When we looked at the idea, the owner was keen for a local charity to be represented on the shirts rather than have any commercial aspect and the reaction we have had from possible charity partners has been very encouraging. "Hopefully we will be able to make an announcement over the next week or two.”"
