Second Driving Ban for Bru Friday, 30th Jun 2017 14:03 Town midfielder Kevin Bru has been banned from driving for a year after pleading guilty to three offences while already serving a six-month ban. Appearing at East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court this morning, the 28-year-old admitted three counts of failing to provide driver details, his car having been filmed speeding on the A12 on three occasions in August. Bru was playing for Town at Preston at the time of one of the offences so could not have been the driver but said he did not know who was driving his Mercedes C220. Paris-born Bru, who plays internationally for Mauritius, was already serving a six-month ban he was given for the same offence in April. Neil Saunders, acting for Bru, said that the midfielder had "put his head in the sand, all he can do is apologise. It was not malicious, it was naivety.” In addition to the 12-month ban, which replaces the previous six-month ban, Bru, who lives in Hazel Rise, Claydon, was fined £1,000 and ordered to pay £200 in court costs and a £100 victim surcharge. TWTD reported in May that Bru and striker Brett Pitman have been told they can leave Town this summer if they can find new clubs.
