It's Grim Down South!
It's Grim Down South!

That's what Martin Smith thinks according to Town manager George Burley. The 24 year old former Sunderland winger apparently was unsure about moving south and that was why he failed to agree terms with Town. Presumably the beautiful Suffolk countryside and clean air didn't compare with the grim, soot-stained rundown industrial complexes and smog of his native north.

The local papers are reporting that Sean Friars and Kevin Inglis have both been added to the squad going to Scandinavia. Northern Ireland U21 international Friars impressed on the left wing last season in the reserves, and last night at St Albans, whilst Scottish midfielder Inglis suffered a broken leg last year, but returned to put in some good performances for the second string late on in the season. With our squad looking so thin at the moment it is vitally important that youngsters like these start to make an impression.

Injury victims Jim Magilton and Matt Holland will make the trip to Scandinavia and are hoping to get in at least one game each.
