U23s Face Crewe in Season Opener Monday, 14th Aug 2017 09:39 Town’s U23s get their season under way today with a game against Crewe Alexandra at Playford Road (KO 1pm). With the first-team squad currently stretched due to injury and illness, coach Gerard Nash is likely to field a particularly young side featuring quite a number of U18s. Meanwhile, academy coach Titus Bramble made his debut for Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division Stowmarket Town in Saturday's game at Felixstowe and Walton United. A crowd of more than 400 enjoyed a seven-goal thriller as the Seasiders won 4-3 against big-spending Stowmarket. Although carrying a little more weight than in his heyday, Bramble, 36, looked assured in the centre of defence and looks to have a big part to play in his new side's title challenge.
