Milne, O'Neill and Klug at Tonight's PLC AGM
Monday, 11th Dec 2017 14:40

Managing director Ian Milne and academy duo Lee O’Neill and Bryan Klug will answer questions from shareholders at the Annual General Meeting of the Ipswich Town PLC, which takes place in Portman Road's Sir Bobby Robson Suite this evening (doors open 6.30pm, start 7.30pm). TWTD will be live-blogging the event on the Forum.

Ahead of the AGM in his letter to shareholders, PLC chairman Roger Finbow wrote: “Ian Milne, the club’s managing director, will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

“Mick McCarthy is unfortunately not able to attend this year, but Lee O’Neill, the academy manager, Bryan Klug, head of coaching and player development, and other academy representatives will also be present to answer your questions about the academy and the increasing flow of talented boys now being prepared for the first team.”

He added: “Nothing gives me - and I suspect many shareholders - more pleasure than seeing ‘one of our own’ make a first-team debut and thereafter establish himself in our first-team squad.

“Last year I mentioned Myles Kenlock, Josh Emmanuel, Andre Dozzell and Ben Morris as those likely to make their mark in the coming year.

"I made no mention of Flynn Downes, Tristan Nydam and Luke Woolfenden, all of whom are now, along with those of last year, building up strong reputations for themselves as exciting young players who we hope will form the nucleus of success for the club in the years to come.

“And thinking about the performance of the young team that faced Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup, that hope and expectation is surely not misplaced. The future looks bright, as I’m sure Lee O’Neill and Bryan Klug will be happy to confirm.”

The PLC owns 12.5 per cent of Ipswich Town Football Club Co Limited and consists of the club's shareholding prior to the takeover 10 years ago this month with Marcus Evans owning the other 87.5 per cent. The meeting is open only to shareholders or their proxies.

In addition to the PLC’s own accounts, shareholders will also be provided with a summary of the club's accounts for the year to the end of June 2017.

Milne, O’Neill and Klug also recently answered questions from fans at the Supporters Club AGM.

So Mick hasn't been able to attend any official ITFC meetings this year then. Might be off in the summer then?

Please can someone ask Ian Milne at what stage he expects our glorious leader to let us know whether he intends to extend his glorious reign with us beyond the end of this season? Given his previous comments on the matter, I presume that this is a decision that rests solely with Mr McCarthy but perhaps, if he's not too scared, Ian might like to at least ask him the question and let us know the response.

And just in case there's time, can someone ask Ian Milne if he feels that the club's declining attendances, the fiasco over season ticket prices and general lack of engagement with supporters is the responsibility of the Managing Director of the club? Failing that, ask him if he's ever queued for a drink or food at any of the bars around the ground at half time and how he found the experience.

McCarthy once more shows his utter contempt for the supporters of our club.

If we were reasonable and offered him an extension then he might think it worthwhile turning up

Because of the inclement weather, my advancing years, and distance ,unlike previously, will not be attending tonight;but then neither are Messrs Evans and McCarthy.

This,I think, gives a good indication of their lack of respect for the Ipswich Town fans.
The Chairman of the Club, has to my knowledge never attended a general meeting at which fans were present;although expect he has had tete-a-tete's with 'special fans'like Liz Edwards.Whilst the Manager has always attended the Supporters & Clubs AGM's until this year.

Pragmatic said about the Fans AGM,that the keyboard warriors on TWTD wouldn't have the guts to fire their questions if the chance arose.Well you are wrong Pragmatic,as is so often the case.I have put awkward questions to this Manager on two occasions, which we know he doesn't like;and at the 2016 supporters meeting I wasn't the only one.Perhaps that is why he didn't go this year, and will not be attending tonight either {lol}.

Not sure if any questions will be asked of Mr Milne tonight about the future, and especially the position of Manager going forward. He did say at the Supporters AGM that the fans views will be taken into account by the Owner, when he ultimately decides about McCarthy's future ,during mutual discussions when the time comes(sooner the better I hope ! )

Meanwhile I look forward to reading the outcome of tonights meeting on this excellent website.

We shareholders were notified weeks ago that MM would not be attending, so unless they have a crystal ball regarding the weather, I don't think that's the reason.

Mick was at Reading tonite, so dissapointed “Mick outers” will hav to wait till Saturday to fire some more bile & abuse at him, either way if he stays or goes end of season I doubt if some of the “ spineless so called supporters” will return who ever we hav in charge !!!

Couldn't give a toss whether McCarthy is there or not. It's Evans. Is he actually still alive? Does he, or did he ever, actually exist? How an owner of a business can treat its customers with such utter contempt is breathtaking. I feel personally insulted that the person in charge of the club I have supported for 43 years deems me so unimportant that he can't be arsed to just occasionally make a public appearance to communicate his vision for the club. It's simply not good enough.

Pragmatic: What's the connection between 'Mick outers' & 'spineless so called supporters?'.
1) I would like to see the back of MM
2) I'm a season ticket supporter who attends 99% of home games [North Stand lower]
3) Your grammar& spelling is like our football, utter sh*te!

Mick just used going to Reading as an excuse not to attend the meeting in my opinion Pragmatic.Surely he could have sent his trusted assistant instead? When TC has attended meetings previously with 'The Boss',he just sits there and doesn't utter a word. However it is not his fault as questions always directed at McCarthy,as no doubt they would have been yesterday, had he bothered to attend.

its not as if Terry Connor hasn't done this kind of thing before,as the McCarthy has often said that Tc was running the rule over teams.
