Magilton Out Saturday?
Magilton Out Saturday?
Thursday, 6th Apr 2000 14:06

Town midfielder Jim Magilton could miss Saturday's home clash with Port Vale after injuring his ankle during the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

Magilton, involved in that unseemly incident with David Johnson, carried on until the end, but his ankle is swollen and is needing treatment.

Town's other injury worry is John McGreal who has still not recovered from his ankle injury.

Despite George Burley's assertion that the matter is now closed, the fall-out from the fall out continues apace. A local newspaper article today brands the incident embarrassing and lands the blame firmly at the feet of David Johnson.

It adds that were Johnson not a high-profile player worth £x million, he could have found himself in the same situation as Adam Tanner.

Fans seem divided in their opinions. Many see the row between the two players as a symptom of their frustration at things not going well and an illustration of both players' committed approach on the pitch.

Others think the time has come for Johnson to be shown the door with Tuesday's outburst the latest in a number of expressions of disharmony from the striker.

Still others saw the incident as merely a flash point between two highly-strung and short-tempered players.

TWTD is opening a new Town Topic for your view on the situation. Whatever people's views are George Burley seems happy that the situation is sorted and fitness permitting both are likely to be in the side that starts on Saturday.
