Thursday, 8th Mar 2018 15:55

Shane McLoughlin was on target late on but Town’s U23s fell to a 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City at their Vale training ground this afternoon.

Mark Harris put the home side ahead in the ninth minute, then Ogo Obi made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after he had been fouled six minutes before the break.

Cardiff ended the game with 10 men after losing Jamie Veale to injury with six minutes left having used all their subs and McLoughlin pulled one back for Gerard Nash’s side in the closing moments.

U23s: Hayes, D Crowe, Clements, Sagaf (McKendry 46), Ndaba, Marshall, Blanchfield, Folami, Drinan, McLoughlin, Morris. Unuswd: Ware, Lankester, El Mizouni.
