Crowe Unused Sub as England U17s Miss Out on Final
Thursday, 17th May 2018 21:21

Academy right-back Dylan Crowe was an unused sub as the England U17s were beaten 6-5 on penalties by Holland after a 0-0 draw in their European Championships semi-final at Chesterfield’s Proact Stadium this evening.

The Dutch will play Italy, who beat Belgium 2-1 in the other semi-final this afternoon, in Sunday’s final.

Crowe played three times in the group games, two starts and one sub appearance, to take his U17s caps total to nine, before being left on the bench in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

The 17-year-old has just completed the first year of his scholarship at Playford Road and has previously won England caps at U15 and U16 levels.

Meanwhile, second-year scholar Ellis Murrell has joined Stowmarket Town on a two-year contract.

The 18-year-old Kirton-based midfielder, who joined the Blues academy as an U10, has been on loan with the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division side since November.
