Town XI to Face AFC Sudbury Wednesday, 11th Jul 2018 09:21 A Town XI will play a friendly against AFC Sudbury at King’s Marsh on Thursday 19th July (KO 7.45pm).
The Blues are likely to field a mixture of U23s and U18s with the U23s also in action the previous night at Lowestoft Town.
Last summer a Town U23s side were beaten 3-1 by Sudbury, who play in the Bostik League North, with Declan Daniels, who was released by the Blues academy towards the end of last season, netting for Gerard Nash’s side.

Love this fixture so super-happy about this. Seen the last three games (when we were beaten 3-0, beaten 5-4 and beaten 3-1j. Great local rivalry and the AFC fans really get behind their team. One of their fans was saying that Ipswich haven't beaten Sudbury in 5 years, but I'm not sure how true that info is. These games are cracking fixtures and well worth the watch if you get a chance. Sudbury are really good at possession football and it's a good test for our team. In the past as well, the Town XI has been mostly our first team so a real chance to see everyone in action. Heard on the grapevine that there might be an Ipswich XI vrs Rattlesden Utd, which used to be a highly competitive fixture in the past but hasn't been played in at least 7 years. | | |
