Shrews Deal and Waghorn Move Set to Be Confirmed Tuesday
Monday, 6th Aug 2018 21:18

Jon Nolan and Toto Nsiala’s joint-move from Shrewsbury to the Blues is set to be confirmed in the morning with Martyn Waghorn’s switch to Derby also expected to be finalised tomorrow.

As TWTD revealed this morning, the duo arrived at Portman Road early today to discuss personal terms and to undergo their medicals. Only minor details relating to their signings, which will see the Blues pay the Shrews almost £2 million, remain to be completed.

Waghorn, 28, is reported to have agreed personal terms with the Rams but with his medical still to be completed. As previously reported, the Blues will receive an initial £5 million with the figure potentially rising to £7.5 million after top-up clauses.

Elsewhere, Blackpool manager Gary Bowyer has resigned with assistant manager Terry McPhillips taking charge on a caretaker basis.

What impact that development will have on Town targer Curtis Tilt’s situation remains to be seen.

Speaking at the weekend, Bowyer appeared to feel the 27-year-old deserved a move to the Championship with majority shareholder Owen Oyston apparently loath to sell the central defender.

“It’s not up to me I’m afraid,” Bowyer said when asked whether he thought Tilt might stay at Blackpool. “The lad wants to play at a higher level, who can deny him? Well I know who can deny him, of course.”

The 26-year-old, who Town have been trying to sign since June, recently handed in a transfer request. He was left out of the Seasiders' side which drew 0-0 with Wycombe at the weekend.

The Blues have made a number of offers, the latest believed to be £700,000, while Blackpool have set their price at £1 million and have been unwilling to accept less.

We have already re invested all of the Webster fee really so I don't understand why people say we haven't. Edwards, Harrison and Donacien signed for a combined 2.2 mil ish and you have to take into consideration the wages. If they're each on 5k per week that'll cost us another 2.3 mil over the course of that time so you're looking at 4.5 mil spend on those 3 over the course of their contracts. Fair play ME and PH. Keep up the good work!

So much for Waghorn moving back home where he'll be happy which some suggested on here...at least we can run a line under this now (he said).

Good luck to Jon and Toto whilst here, heard good things particularly about Jon so fingers crossed.

"I'm not sure we should buy Aguero, he's going to be on 120k a week and that's an awful lot of money, you've got to think about the wages... I think maybe we should play it safe and get someone cheaper in instead" said no Man City fan ever...

Mcgoldrick wage was 14k a week plus
Connolly wage was 3k or so a week
Gleeson wage was 3k or so a week

Those 3 wages would pay edwards, harrison and donacien.

Ignore the wages and concentrate on the disappearing money.

You do realise that those of you stating that Middlesborough is his hometown team is akin to stating that Norwich is most of our hometowns team right? Born in South Shields, Sunderland is his hometown team - Middlesborough is geographically close, as much as Norwich is sadly geographically (much too) close to Ipswich :)

Got to hope Derby get promoted now, I suppose? Pity, but we want the extra money.

Dog, you also need to take into consideration Bart signed a new deal on a lot better terms and then the other signings we have made. Contrary to previous years we have actually reinvested into the playing staff. I would assume PH is the drive behind that!

For Barts extra wages you could supplement that with iotfa wages. Or cellina.

Dont worry about the extra wages - just follow the money.

This season, 75% of all money obtained from transfers and fifa should be reinvested.

I won't even mention the 2 million from naff sponsor that everyone has forgot. Oh i just did.

Spanishblue - i was only defending toxteth. There are a few people on here who cannot tolerate differing views so roll out the "budgie" line. They may as well use the c word as far as i am concerned. Dont change your user id.

Derby have announced that Vydra has left for Burnley. Could this trigger the rest?
