Blues Linked With Renewed Tilt Interest Friday, 17th Aug 2018 15:41
Town are reported to have renewed their interest in Blackpool centre-half Curtis Tilt.
The Blues chased the 27-year-old throughout the transfer window making a number of bids, the highest reaching £800,000, before giving up the chase and turning their attention to AFC Wimbledon’s Deji Oshilaja on deadline day, however, they were unable to agree a deal with the Dons.
Now, according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, Town have gone back for Tilt, who is understood to have handed in a transfer request at Bloomfield Road.
While the transfer window has closed, clubs are able to take players on loan until the end of the month with a view to those deals becoming permanent switches in January.
Tilt played in non-league for Halesowen Town, Hednesford Town, AFC Telford Town, Wrexham and Forest Green Rovers (loan) before joining Blackpool last summer.
He made 45 starts for the League One side in 2017/18, his first EFL campaign, scoring once and picking up three Seasiders’ player of the season gongs.
Tilt's only appearance for Blackpool so far this season was in the Carabao Cup tie against Barnsley on Tuesday.
Rangers, Reading, QPR and Portsmouth were all also been linked with Tilt during the summer.

As I recall a certain Johnny Wark was brought back he could, not run but he certainly knew where to be,Tony Mowbray another on,you do need a bit of experience but not to much as the game has changed fit strong and mobile in the majority of places but a strong organiser is a must maybe but you never know
Paul, regarding the need for another striker (on loan), get on the phone to Jurgen Klopp and enquire about Dominic Solanke. I understand there's every chance he'll be available!
Tilt (as up can coming talent) and Terry (for his leadership abilities and impact in training/from the bench) for me....then would allow us to sign one striker on-loan. Dominic Solanke might be a good bet....
I think Tilt would be a good addition in the long term although I wonder if we should be using the 2 loans we have available now to bring in an experienced championship CB and CF at least until January just to give the players stepping up from the lower leagues time to settle in at this level.
@wayway- if you lose money running a Football club, then you just lose money. True your tax bill is lower but it's not lower by more than you lose at the football club. ME loses about 5-6 million every year at Ipswich and will only recoup about 20-30% of that through a reduced tax bill.
I'd be happy enough to get Tilt in, but people seem to have missed the fact that he is already 27. Not sure how much more development potential remains.
Wayway I agree wholeheartedly. Now if you could send me your years salary in full I will give you 20% of it back in 18 months. Glad you like the idea - cos I do.
Defence is crying out for Tilt. Chambers, Nsiala, Knudsen & Donacien are all warrior-defenders. Little guilecomposurepassing-ability. Attackers are feeding off scraps. Massive mistake not getting Tilt in as Webster's replacement for the first game. Do the fricking deal already.
Toxtethblue I thought neanderthal man had disappeared million of years ago but here you are. I never thought I would ever see someone marked down because in his post he called Marcus Evans Mr Evans. I do hope it was meant as a joke but I don't think so.
The money ME "puts into" the club is added to the debt to him , if as some have alluded he does not expect or want the money back why add it to the debt ?? write it off , as still well within FFP. He bought the club nobody forced him so he is somewhat obligated to progress the club but it seems he is only interested in maintaining the status quo presently with playing squad "investment". He is by far one of the top five wealthy owners in the championship.
Good calls on the more experienced centre halves. We need an older head (which though chambers is, he can't be considered a great example). Tilt for the future. How about James Collins (released by Wet Sham) for now? Was good for us on loan a few years ago.
