Town's UEFA Cup opponents, FC Avenir Beggen, have a poor record in European football despite spending a number of years in UEFA competitions. The club are nicknamed 'Wichtelcher' which means 'the Pixies', and it seems the Blues will have to do little impressive to march into the competition proper.

They were founded in 1914 and have won just three times in European football in 34 ties, and one of those was due to the opposition fielding an ineligible player.

They wear a deep yellow with a black trim and have six players capped at Luxembourg U21 international level: Lionel Da Silva, Kevin Hartert, Frank Goergen, Gregory Molitor, Tom Schaack and Pablo Sanchez.

Beggen avoided relegation last season in a play-off but won the Luxembourg Cup. They have won the Luxembourg League title on six occasions: 1969, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1993 and 1994 and the Luxembourg Cup seven times: 1983, 1984, 1987, 1992, 1993, 1994 and 2002.

Their current UEFA ranking is 0.416 (Town's is 35.729) and they were the weakest side in Town's UEFA geographical group, with only five sides ranked below them in the entire qualifying round. One also from Luxembourg and the rest from San Marino, Andorra and Kazakhstan.

Their home ground, the Stade Rue Henri Dunant has a capacity of 4,900, hence the move to the 10,000-seater Municipal Stadium.

The most impressive site we've found (includes pub info!) is the Witchel Web: " target="_blank">http://www.wichtelweb.net/
