![]() Wednesday, 10th Jul 2002 09:03 Reports this morning say Sixto Peralta is with the Town squad currently on a team building exercise at Goodwood, West Sussex. Peralta's whereabouts has been a mystery up to now, with the Blues keen to secure his services for another year. An Inter Milan spokesperson is quoted as saying that, from their perspective, the Argentinian is a Town player: "Sixto Peralta is with Ipswich. As far as we are concerned he is an Ipswich Town player." Peralta proved a fans' favourite during last year's spell at Portman Road, but Inter Milan's £3 million price-tag seemed to put him out of cash-strapped Town's reach unless a number of players were sold. Matteo Sereni's loan move to Brescia was confirmed yesterday, but that failed to bring in any cash. Titus Bramble's switch to Newcastle is yet to be completed due to his achilles operation, although that seems a mere formality. However, no other deals are confirmed as on the cards despite a great deal of speculation. A permanent move for Peralta therefore seems out of the question at present. David Sheepshanks recently enquired regarding another year's loan and this currently would seem the most likely way for Peralta to rejoin Town.
