Quartet Could Win Caps
Thursday, 21st Mar 2019 09:46

Jonas Knudsen, Andre Dozzell, Trevoh Chalobah and Flynn Downes could all add to their international caps later today.

Knudsen, 26, is with the Denmark squad who play a friendly away against Kosovo in Pristina. The left-back will be hoping to win his seventh full cap.

The Danes play Switzerland in a European Championships qualifier in Basel on Tuesday evening.

Dozzell, Chalobah and Downes are with the England U20s, who face Poland at St George's Park in a friendly this afternoon. They subsequently take on Portugal away in Penafiel next Tuesday.

Dozzell, 19, and Chalobah, also 19, have previously won two caps at U20 level, while Downes, 20, has won one.

Meanwhile, academy youngster Kian Ronan played the full 90 minutes as Gibraltar’s U21s were beaten 1-0 in Cyprus in a European Championships qualifier yesterday. The 18-year-old, who is set to leave the Blues in the summer, was winning his second U21s cap.

Fellow academy scholar Dylan Crowe, 17, was an unused sub as England’s U18s beat Japan 4-1 in their opening game at the Sport Chain Cup in Dubai.

Love that photo showing the concern on Modric's face as Jonas bursts forward.

Shows we STILL have the art of producing some very promising talent : let's desist from lots of the negatives we've seen over the last few years and accept not only the positives ,but recognise we also must be patient as maturity doesn't come overnight or without experience ( whatever your age )!

Yes let's celebrate the positives but when we see the negatives let's not put our fingers in our ears and go, la la la la la.

I think 2 of these 4 wont be here next season for definite.
Dozzell and Downes being our most valuable assets, I can see being moved on in the summer, to help balance the books.

Carberry. Theres to many negatives to even contemplate.
My last post, seen by many I'm sure as negative, is a actually a positive. We do have some players in the squad, that are actually worth something, not many, but some. Which will please Mr Evan's, I'm sure.

Apparently Scotland are about as excited about the week off from club football as we are!

Apparently Borat was the star man lol!
I didn't even realise there were actual qualifiers for Euro 2020, that's how disinterested I am in international football these days. Although to be fair I can just about handle an actual qualifier but those midweek international friendlies are about as exciting as watching Points of View!
Been having some banter with Norwich fans tonight on that cr*ppy WhatsApp or WhatsCr*p or Whatever It Is! Some of the Gorleston Rangers teams that my lad plays for having been invited to play in a tournament in Barcelona so we keep having jokes about it. I said are we going to invite them back to Emerald Park which is where my lad's team play their home matches on a Sunday. I then cracked a joke saying that Barcelona have already been to East Anglia twice before but to play Ipswich obviously rather than Norwich. Bear in mind most of the parents in his team support the Budgies some are a live target! One of them came back to say he's too young to remember us playing in Europe which I came straight back and said Ipswich have qualified twice for Europe this century whereas Norwich haven't played in Europe at all this century. I said to him, how old are? Are you playing for the U8s or the U9s? :-) I then said Ipswich have scored 20 goals in Europe this century, whereas Norwich have only scored 6 goals in Europe in their entire history! And Ipswich have scored about 120 goals in Europe in total which is 20 times more than Norwich have ever managed! I mentioned we scored 5 goals against Barcelona in the two games they came to East Anglia and one of them chirped up and said that about as many goals as Ipswich have managed all this season. I had to laugh at that one at least but even when we're sitting rock bottom of the league I'm able to fire back with some good ammo! Enjoy the bants with the Budgies. They're sitting pretty at the minute but sooner or later you know they'll fall off that perch and land crash bang wallop back into their carrot patch! And needless to say when they do I'll be in the vanguard ready to seize the moment! COYB!!!

* I meant above I'm a live target being the only Ipswich supporter they see every Sunday (which has been tough this season I'll be the first to admit but I like to give it so have to be able to take it too).

Will Our matches may be postponed next season if too many players are away on international duty?

Well obviously we won't have Chalobah and Knudsen contract running out so not the boldest prediction we loose 2/4 🤣. In regards to Dozzell and Downes as much as I amd most of you rate them, I don't think they've done enough that big money offers are going to come in and would be bonkers to sell now at a low price.

Afcfee. St George's park highly rate them, if we lose Dozzell, that will be down to ourselves, as we havnt given him game time his talent deserves. But saying that not sure it would have made much difference, only push his value up.
Weather they have done enough or not, Still our most valuable assets. So moves more likely than not.
