Gaardsøe on Loss
Gaardsøe on Loss

Returning Danish defender was impressed with former side AaB in their friendly against Town last night. A Martijn Reuser own goal won the day for Aalborg in a game where Town were always second best.

Gaardsøe was disappointed to get just less than half an hour as a sub in front of his own supporters but was philosophical: "It was disappointing for me personally. I was hoping to get at least a half but George Burley had different ideas. But that's professional football and I'll just have to keep fighting for my place.

"AaB were very well organised and I'm sure they will do well in the Superliga in the season ahead. They put us under constant pressure and we were never allowed to play our own game.

"They were very solid and the back and much of our attacking play was meat and drink to the centre-halves Thomas Bælum and Båd Borgersen."
