A burglar who broke into Blues FA Cup winner Mick Lambert’s home in January has been jailed for five years.

Luke Stuttard, 29, stole a white Ford Fiesta, a television and jewellery among other items during the break-in at Lambert’s Ipswich home on January 18th.

Stuttard admitted one count of burglary, while 12 others were taken into consideration, including Lambert’s, at Ipswich Crown Court where he was jailed for five years and was ordered to pay a £170 victim surcharge.

Lambert’s 1978 FA Cup winner’s medal was initially believed stolen but was later found under a bed with the burglars thought to have dropped it as they ransacked the house.

The winger, now 68, came on as a sub for goalscorer Roger Osborne (with whom he is pictured above) in the final at Wembley as the Blues beat Arsenal 1-0 in May 1978.

Stuttard, of Hogarth Road, Ipswich, stole £60,000 of items and caused £14,000 of damage during the burglaries which took place between 3rd January and 23rd January.

DC Duncan Etchells of Suffolk police said: "Burglary is a clear invasion of people’s homes and their personal space and it can be very upsetting and distressing for the victims.

“Hopefully, this sentence given in this case will provide some peace of mind to Stuttard’s victims and also act as a deterrent to other would-be burglars.”
