New Community Trust Close to Launch
Wednesday, 7th Aug 2019 13:52

Town’s reformed Community Trust is getting close to its official launch. The club announced in April that they would be starting a new Community Trust, six years after severing links with the ITFC Charitable Trust.

The Blues are currently putting together a team of staff to oversee the work of the new organisation to concentrate on delivering a range of initiatives to the local community, especially schools.

""A football development programme, a schools programme and an open access community football programme are all planned, while ex-captains Matt Holland and Carlos Edwards, as well as current skipper Luke Chambers, have expressed an interest in getting involved.

“We already have a very good relationship with local charities and organisations but under the Ipswich Town Community Trust it enables us to enhance our role in the community, particularly in schools,” the club’s general manager of football operations Lee O’Neill told the club site.

Town are asking those interested in working as coaches in the Trust’s programmes, on either a part-time or a full-time basis, to send their CVs to community@itfc.co.uk.

This is a very good thing; it was foolish of the club to abandon it in the first place.

Working with the community. This is exactly what is needed. Benefits all round and some kudos for ME - he could do with it at present.
