Hughes on Target as U23s Draw at QPR
Monday, 21st Oct 2019 15:05

Tommy Hughes was on target as Town’s U23s drew 1-1 with QPR at their Harlington training ground this afternoon.

Hughes, who made his senior debut in the Leasing.com Trophy victory over Gillingham earlier this month, netted with a strike from just outside the area in the 37th minute to give the Blues the lead.

However, the home side levelled via Lewis Walker, the son of former England international Des, on the hour.

Town came close to grabbing a win they would have deserved in the final minute when Ben Folami went close.

The U23s, who are coached by Gerard Nash and Chris Hogg, have now gone three games without a defeat and today’s draw takes them off the bottom of the Professional Development League Two South table ahead of Colchester on goal difference.

U23s: Przybek, O'Reilly, Fehrenbach, Ndaba, Clements, Foudil, McGavin, Hughes (Scott 80), K Brown (Gibbs 69), Simpson (Oppong 80), Folami. Unused: Alley, Henderson.
