Three Linked to Holland
Three Linked to Holland

Everton, Fulham and Manchester City are all being linked with impending moves for Town skipper Matt Holland. Earlier this week Aston Villa manager Graham Taylor revealed that he had made an enquiry regarding the Irish international.

All three of the latest clubs linked have previously been mentioned in connection with the Blues' captain before, however, it had been thought that Kevin Keegan's Manchester City had dropped their interest after they signed Marc-Vivien Foe.

Fulham were considered favourites for his signature shortly after the World Cup and TWTD understands were even in talks with Town during that period.

Earlier in the summer David Sheepshanks confirmed that the club had received an enquiry from Everton, thought to be regarding the availability of Holland and Marcus Stewart.

With the club's financial situation tight, interest in a player from a number of clubs might be Town's greatest hope of attracting bids of anything like the amount they would have been after in a more stable transfer market.

Both George Burley and David Sheepshanks have said that Holland is the last player they'd want to lose, but with the situation as it is Town will not be in a position to be too choosy about accepting or refusing offers.
