![]() Thursday, 15th Aug 2002 01:59 Reports in Iceland claim that Brentford keeper Olafur Gottskalksson recently turned down a one-year offer from Town. His agent confirmed that both Town and Brighton tried to tempt Gottskalksson away from Griffin Park. George Burley has been looking for another keeper as cover while Keith Branagan recovers from his operation. Gottskalksson is available on a free transfer and his agent David Mannessie confirmed that his player had turned down the offers from Town as well as Brighton and Stockport. The Icelander is not happy with the way Brentford are touting him to other clubs: "I think Brentford are trying to force me to accept one of the offers. I have never been in better shape and I've had a good pre-season."
