Judge: Important to Keep Momentum Going
Wednesday, 22nd Jan 2020 14:30

Blues midfielder Alan Judge says Town need to maintain their building momentum when they face Lincoln City at Portman Road on Saturday.

Since the Blues lost 5-3 to the Imps at Sincil Bank on December 29th the Blues have won two - most recently the 2-1 from-behind victory at Tranmere on Saturday - and drawn two and climbed back to third in the table, two points behind leaders Rotherham and Wycombe, who lost 4-0 at Peterborough last night, in second.

"It was a big, big win at Tranmere. I don't think many teams will go there and take all three points with the pitch in that condition so to get through was massive for us," Judge told iFollow Ipswich.

"We needed it because Lincoln have been a tough team for us. We also have a tough February coming up with the likes of Peterborough and Sunderland, plus Rotherham to finish January.

"To have points on the board heading into those games is important and we need to try and keep the momentum going.

"Things have been better since Lincoln [away] and I think that served as a wake-up call. Let's not kid ourselves they put five past us.

"But we're in a better position now. I'm looking forward to getting back out there at Portman Road and we'll be doing everything we can to put in another good performance."

The Republic of Ireland international netted his first Town goal in the 1-0 FA Cup first round replay win at Lincoln in November and scored his first league goal for the Blues in the 4-1 victory over Accrington Stanley in the last home match.

I get a real feeling the players hated the tinkering as well!

The thing with PL is, having either listened to concerns or come to his own view, he is not so arrogant as to continue with a poor decision just to make a point, unlike some managers we have had.

A manager who seemingly doesn't think they're bigger than the team and has now reverted to keeping the same team. Humility is a very important manager skill good for you PL
Now Judge and the rest smash Lincoln and show your manager what the main 11 is capable of....Cant wait for saturday

To be expected that an incumbent wants team-continuity. But I would argue that the recent wins, especially Tranmere away, were in spite of Judge's selection, not because. Personally I would much prefer Teddy Bishop to start in Judge's place. We looked much more threatening after this substitution on Saturday. Judge has generally been poor this season.

As long as the midfield keeps going forward as opposed to sideways we will be fine.

Judge is playing well and is still a very capable number 10 at thi level. We need to be mindful not to rush Teddy back, but having the two of them competing fir the place in the team is a nice problem to have!

Very tricky games coming up. If we sort our lives out we can have a field day.. if not I’ll still love them all :-)

Judge has found a bit of form and as far as a proper footballer goes he fits the bill. Retribution time for Lincoln on Saturday, reckon we are gonna destroy them. Looking forward to the match and it’s only Wednesday, PRICELESS!

Competition all over the pitch is good: with the exception of centre half, and possibly left full/wing-back (Kenlock has disappointed imo), we have cover with the players chomping at the bit to get on. Long may it continue! COYB

A classic confidence player, is dear old Judge - and i think his should be rising sharply now, just in time.

And with Bish **PLEASE STAY FIT** coming back, other teams will be sitting up.
