Blackpool Linked With Nolan Move
Sunday, 26th Jan 2020 10:50

Blackpool are reported to be keen on a move for Blues midfielder Jon Nolan.

According to The Sun on Sunday, the Tangerines, who are 15th in League One, are willing to pay a significant sum for the 27-year-old as they look to add creativity to their side as they attempt to ignite a promotion push in the second half of the season.

Nolan hasn’t featured for Town since the 0-0 Boxing Day draw with Gillingham, however, it would be a surprise if manager Paul Lambert were to be willing to allow the former Shrews man to leave, particularly having let fringe midfielder Idris El Mizouni join Cambridge on loan.

Liverpudlian Nolan is contracted to the Blues until the summer of 2021 with the club having an option for a further year. The January transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday evening.

Personally like Nolan, got goals in him and anyone that plays on the front foot and drives the ball forward is welcome in my book. Great cover for Downes and Huws, ITFC's new 'undropables'

As much as I love Bish & Emyr as top class players at this level and very good championship players, I will not be convinced that their problems are behind them until they have both played at least 30 or so games with out missing less than a handful. Jack Lankester will have had over a season out and Tristram Nydam has still a long way to go before back to full fitness. Judgey needs to prove he can up his level of performance on a consistent basis to win me over.

Nolo is a box to box midfielder who has a little bit of everything, he can play the role behind the two strikers and has potentially more goals in him than Skuse, Downes & Bish put together.

I don't think we would get a decent replacement at this level who can up his game in Championship if we get back up, For the price we are likely to get for him.

The jury is still very much out on our fragile midfield in terms of robustness to maintain a good run of games so it's a no for me as I don't see at the moment where we would spend that money, who would want to come.

He provides a number of options from the bench - so it's a no thank you from me - you can keep you money Blackpool.

Keep -we've been better without him in the team but I would not trust Huws and Bishop to stay fit until May.
Skuse's legs may have gone

Heathen, I think you are right that there's a bias against the Hurst signings, some of those players have come on really well having dropped down a level and if we are to go back up we will stand a much better chance of survival next season thanks to them being embedded in the team now. However some of them including Nolan do deserve the scrutiny they get. I'd like to see him do well for us but he just hasn't delivered consistently and the last couple of games he played for us I felt he showed a real lack of effort. On Judge, he has received more than his fair share of criticism over performance as well as the transfer saga. I personally think Judge has very slowly but steadily picked up throughout the season, this formation suits him and he's a seasoned pro. Certainly not been everything we wanted but I believe he'll be crucial to any promotion plans we have. Onwards and upwards, COYB

we need to lose some players and nolan fits the bill, hasn't made any sort of impression and not looking likely to, get some cash and move on

We have too many midfielders and not enough defenders so I say let him go at any price and use the freed up wages to bring in another centre back. We're currently playing with 3 and only one loanee as cover. We have a million midfielders and even if some of them go down injured again we have more youngsters coming through who have been no worse than Nolan

Keep Nolo he will be needed later in the season. Marcus would pocket the fee and use it towards next year's budget. We don't react/move quickly enough in transfer windows so all our players should now be staying.

Spot on facefacts we can't offord to sell our better players at the stage of the season .Anyone who's played the game can see Nolan's got quality and composure on the ball and the goals he scores have been quality and before he got injured he was starting to look good in the championship .We haven't got much back up Dozzells simply not good enough we can't rely on Bishop staying fit Skuse is looking a bit leggy and are young players are not ready yet. Huws when fully fit is probably the best player at the club has come in and done a steady job without creating much. So just because the team has started playing well again i think we need to calm down a bit and not start selling our better players.
