Town's Nigerian former international Finidi George has admitted he has had big problems adapting to the English game. The former Real Mallorca and Real Betis player says he often doesn't know what he is supposed to be doing during games.

Despite having won numerous caps for Nigeria as well as the 1995 Champions League with Ajax the Town number 19 says he is often at a loss as to how to play in England: "I don't know what is expected of me this season from the manager.

"Sometimes it is quite difficult when you don't really know what you are supposed to be doing."

It is the added defensive duties of the English game which has caused him most problems. He says he feels he has to go out and win the ball while playing for Town, something he has not had to do with his previous clubs.

Against Bradford he felt he didn't get the ball enough and syas he is not enjoying his football at the moment: "I'm not really relaxing in my game. I don't feel relaxed. It is in my head that I should defend, then I worry am I too deep? If we get the ball where am I expected to be? I'm worried whether I'm not defending instead of getting into attack.

"If I can get that right then I will be more relaxed and can do even better."

Town have also looked into the 31-year-old's lack of stamina and have consulted fitness experts regarding the player's inability to complete the full 90 minutes. He has undergone tests and exercises in order to get him to the level of fitness of the rest of the squad.
